Womens Advance Life Changing

Every Fal,l the first weekend in October our ladies head up to the hills for a few days away for themselves. Mind you just getting there is no easy feat! It takes lots of planning and often times when the ladies arrive they are pretty warn out just from the events leading up to getting themselves away from family, work, chruch, and life to get there.

However once there it is amaizing what happens in three short days. Maybe it is the air, or the great fellowship, the amazing view, shopping, praying, teaching, ministry, and life chaning encounters with God that are to blame , but our ladies never come back the same.

I am no exeption! This year seemed like a hike up Mt. Everest just to get there, but I can truly say I will never be the same. Fom the moment I stepped foot in my condo I was expecting and I was not let down. This life changing weekend could not have happend with out Pastor Marianne and I wanted to say thank you so much for putting together such a wonderful time for all us ladies.

While these meetings wont be published on the web due to their personal nature I want to ensure you that there was more life changing transformation happening than you can imagine. If you are even considering going next year, I encourage you to start saving, stay tuned for more information, and mark your calander. Because It will change your life.........

It did mine!

Oh the fun we have at Moms Inc.

By Amy Stogner

Recently, our Moms Inc. group took a trip to Flowers For Three, a beautiful nursery in the country outside of Johnstown, for a ‘container garden party.’ The morning of the nursery trip, I got my son off to school, loaded up my daughter and was on my way. For some reason, I thought I would just follow the highway leading toward I-25 all the way to Johnstown. However, right past the I-25 interchange, I ran into a dirt road. Oops!

After panicking for a moment, I realized I had my handy GPS in the car, so I got it out and set the nursery as my destination. I don’t know what I’d do without my GPS! As I drove through the countryside, I was already beginning to relax. Sometimes I forget that we are surrounded by such lovely farmland. The GPS lead me through Johnstown, which I find to be such a charming little town, and out through more country until I arrived at the nursery.

Flowers For Three sits in the country with an expansive view of farmland to all sides. Walking in, I was instantly surrounded by the humid feel of a greenhouse, the fragrance of flowers and bursts of color everywhere. Jenna commented on how she wanted to move in and I agreed!

Vicky and other employees graciously led our kids in their own activities. First, the kids went on a little hunt for toy horses and dogs that were hidden around the nursery, then they each got a pad of paper and crayon to draw on, and finally each child got to plant a pumpkin seed. My daughter is proud of the pumpkin she planted.

With the kids busy as such, us moms began making out own container gardens. Vicky explained to us the elements needed for a flower basket: a thriller, which goes in the middle of the basket spiller and filler. We had an array of flowers to choose from for each element of the basket. It was fun to pick out flowers that we thought would complement one another for the looks we were going for. Each basket was unique and beautiful in its own way, just like God made each of us!

After we finished up our baskets, we ate brunch and drank coffee while many of the kids played on a giant dirt pile outside. It’s always a pleasure to hang out with these lovely women and I left the greenhouse feeling refreshed. The two flower baskets I made that day are now on my front porch and grow and fill in a little more every day.

Snow out the window

More and more this winter I find myself eager to get into the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Is it the great seat in the front row I am after? or perhaps the annointed prais and worship I am eager for. If you say me rush past in the hall you may even say "wow she's hungry for the word today"

Well all of these would be worthy badges to wear. however I must be honest in telling you my eagerness to burst through the double doors each Sunday has nothing to do with any of this.

Truth is I have found myself this winter excited to see the view of the sweeping mountian range framed in by large glass windows.

breathtaking hardly describes it. I remind myself how lucky we are to have such an amazing view to look forward to each week.

While it is in accompaniment to the preaching. Nothing gets me in the mood to leave the world in the parking lot, and worship the Lord like that view.

-Jenna
